Thanks Hcsodale. It's good to know that the tasers can be used in correctional facilities in a sane, responsible way. I'm glad to see that the deputies don't wear them on a daily ongoing basis. I agree that they should only be used when needed for violent inmates and only in specific incidents. As an inmate advocate, I was always afraid that tasers could be used as a form of dicipline instead of a form of control. I do like the term "ride the lightning". In a riot situation, or when an assault is about to take place on an officer or staff member, zap the mutt until he's on his knees. It gets the job done without deadly force. However, in an effort to avoid the abuse of Tasers by some of the "good ole boys", I prefer to see them used only under the direct supervision of superior officers unless circumstances do not permit.

Got a phone call from my middle daughter, Bridget, this morning. As some of you know, she's the one who had minor surgery for skin cancer that had matastasized to a few of her lymph nodes. She went back for her six month check up yesterday and came out with a clean bill of health! It's sort of what I expected, given the post-surgical assesment from her doctor, but still, nice to have it re-affirmed.

Hey BigJim. That really is wonderful news. You must have been worried to death. FiBlue is right. Apples don't fall far from the tree. Keep an eye on her and everyone else in your family. Male sure they get regular checkups, AND THAT ALSO MEANS YOU!!! Take care. We love you.

I look forward to reading about the Relay. Yes, it was a big relief.
Bridge will stay on top of her check-ups. As for the rest of the family, her sisters and I are more aware than ever, though she's the most suseptable (Sp?). She's extremely fair like her mother. It's an Irish thing. The other two seem to have gotten some of my French genes and aren't as fair, but they're all aware of the possibility. None of them are much for the sun anyway, and we all havve a renewed commitment to sunblock.

That's great news Carolina. Going to college is a sound professional choice. If you want to move up in your agency, having an advanced education is one sure way of doing it. What are you going to major in?

Go for it, go for it, go for it Bob!
Don't hesitate to call and muster support and even help with a term paper should you be in need ...
BTW: Reference Point Software ... great source for programs that actually set up term papers accoring to the "style" (APA, Chicago, etc.) professors/courses require. I found them to be better than Word or Word Perfect.

I have to give you a lot of credit for going back to school and holding down the full time career. The thought of me going back to school, part time or full time, is torturous. But that's just me! It seems like you're traveling down a good road these days!!
