Howdy Guys. Often times, it's much easier for us to bitch and complain about something. God knows I do my share. But, during the course of all that, have we stopped to think about the good things that happend? Lets use this post, all of us, as often as we can, to post something good that happend to us during the course of our day. Surley, someone will say something that will lift your spirits, make you smile, even if so incoicidental. Lets give this a try, maybe by doing this, we'll lift someone elses spirtis that may not have had a better day than you....Lets Do It!!

OK, I'll start. This happened a few days ago but really gave a nice ending to a real sh*tty day. I'd gotten in from work and was all stressed out and getting the trash together to put out by the road. No, I dont litter so dont you guys get your ticket books out! Anyway, my neighbor appears in my garage and has this framed picture in his hand. He says to me, Kev, we are selling a bunch of our collectible prints and when we got to this one we both said at the same time you had to have it. Well, it is a framed painting of the flag raising at ground zero by William Rogers. its #4 of 800. I didnt know what to say and was somewhat speachless. I thanked him and realized that the jesture had caused me to forget about all the crappy stuff that day and lifted all that stressed out feeling away. Its a good feeling to know that folks appreciate what we do and this just goes to show all of us that the smallest kind word or jesture can really make someones day!! Thanks for starting this area chris!!

Hey Carolinabob. I recently received some great news. GOAL New York has decided to award me the 25th annual Charles Cochrane Award for service to the GLBT criminal justice community. I am absoluty stunned that my peers have seen fit to honor me this way. As you know, the event will be held in New York on April 20th. I can't wait to get up there and see old friends and to reaffirm my committment to our common struggle. I am on cloud nine about this. To know that they think so much of me almost brings me to tears. So, as you can see, something good did happen to me today!!!!

Ok, heres one. Since I'm the center of the universe, you all know about my birthday the other day. Well, turns out my parents didn't even call me. Didn't really upset me, but I just was kind of surprised (no card in the mail yet either). But sure enough, when I get to the Sunshine Cafe for dinner break (where the celebs have their dinner scene), the waitresses bring out this big old birthday cake and a bag of gifts for me (a box of chocolates, a teddy bear, and a dozen yellow baby roses, and a card). How's that for an unexpected pick me up? I just hope my wish come true from blowing out the candle from the cake.

Hey Hoosier; your wish; what's his name?
As for good things, well we had our memorial brunch for Rob Schoonover today. It's snowing and cold, but several friends of his and people who have sort of strayed from our GOAL chapter all showed up, and it was good to see them. Some of those who were supposed to say a few words today got their times screwed up and arrived as we were leaving, but it was okay. One person who showed up on time was a woman friend of Rob's, Vivian, and she sort of just started talking about him, and finally everyone was just listenig. She said things she needed to say, and things I think a lot of us appreciated hearing. So, even though some people who were supposed to say a few words missed it, we ended up haing a really nice, and I think meaningful get together.

Carroll, congratulations dahling, and it's about time. Just don't wear the wonder woman outift when you make your acceptance speech!
I assume you get the award at the dinner, so maybe now it will be worth the price of admission.

Hey, Chris, why are your posts hitting twice? I know you're not so shallow as trying achieve two more stars quickly, so I figure there's something going on with your machine.

I don't follow American Idol, but it can't be any worse than what MANY of us used to do having DYNASTY parties. I know I'm showing my age here, but there isn't much difference. Well the clothes, the jewelry and the cat fights were at least better in Dynasty!

Hey Scott, you're not the only one who can remember that far back. I remember it probably the way I'll someday remember American Idol; not fondly. Actually my memory is more of the programs' reputations as I'm a fan of neither.
