Proboards has been having server issues which is making it difficult for people to log on or if logged on, having "Time Out" issues. They are aware of the problem and it is being worked on. It is frustrating but we have to be patient with this. Hopefully the problem will be resolved soon. "It's always something"

OK...now there seems to be a problem with the site loading if you are using AOL, through Internet Explorer. I have no problem accessing the site through Firefox but since last night I've had a problem seeing the site through AOL. Maybe it's just my computer. Internet Explorer blows and so does AOL. But people still use them. Hopefully this latest problem will be resolved soon. I have no control over it.

The problem with loading and accessing the site through Internet Explorer and AOL is still ongoing. Supposedly it's being worked on. There were a lot of problems with the Proboards servers in the last week or so. It's taking time to get everything rectified.

Just a FYI for all of you....! A good one..... Earlier today I had an issue with the amber alert code that is usually at the top portion of the site. I removed it with the intention of re-installing it in the near future, which I will do. But it looks like in removing the code, I accidentally removed some other portions of two other codes which affected the board. It looked pretty bad for a while. I don't know if any of you saw it but I did! I seriously didn't know what to do. I searched thru support to find the answers and I just couldn't. Finally, I sent some messages to proboards support and within minutes, they had the answers for me! Just AWESOME! It was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders! And things are back to normal!! So.....for all the complaining and moaning I do from time to time....( I know....who, me?)....I just want to say a big THANK YOU to the support at proboards! And just so you know....there will be an upgrade to all proboards sites within the next few months. We're currently at version 4 or 4.5. I forget which. But there will be a version 5 in the future. At present I haven't seen the beta version of BP but I may get on board to see a preview of what we'll look like in the future. Everything should look the same but there will be new features included from what I understand. So, stay tuned! Again, thanks proboards support!

There seems to be a problem with Tiny Pic, which hosts most of the images on this site. (Including the main banner) It is only temporary (I think!) so please, just bear with it. It's always something..... And we're back!!!!

After making a posting a little while ago, the site went haywire. I thought it was my fault but after checking with support, we were not the only ones affected. And, NO, it was NOT my fault. But it's fairly back to normal now. Maybe some slow loading for a bit as things fall back into place but then everything should be ok. The support people were right on top of this, thankfully.

I installed a plug-in to the site that, while not that important, is just a little bit fun. (I hope.) It's not meant for long postings but rather, maybe one liners. If you choose to even do it. The plug-in is called "ransom". As of now there is no button or icon that you click on to bring it up, in the posting area. You have to do it by hand, by yourself.
If you want your brief posting, one or two sentences to look like a "ransom note", just do the following:
TYPE: {ransom=1}The text you want to type goes here!{/ransom} ONLY ONE THING IS DIFFERENT: Don't use the { ...... use the [ instead. I had to substitute the { for the [ so it would show up correctly in the example. Remember....[ NOT { ! And please......just for one line posts! You can see how it would get confusing if you posted an entire paragraph or even a few sentences! We'll see how this thing works out. If it becomes a problem or over-annoying, I'll remove it. It's just a little tweak to the site....which as you know....runs a hell of a lot better than a certain website coming out of our esteemed officials in our nation's capitol.
This is an example of how it should look:
[ransom=1]BLUE PRIDE IS THE GREATEST WEBSITE IN THE WORLD![/ransom]

I added a new feature where you can post your "Mood" to your current posting. The button you click is at the bottom right of your posting, right next to where it says, "Create Post". Obviously you have a choice of "Moods" to choose from. It will show up right underneath your avatar! An innocuous little feature which seems to work well! Give it a try!

Last night I added a plug-in which makes the "News Feeder" at the top of the board look the same as the one we had on the Version 4.5 of this site. It seems to run a little fast but it is apparently the slowest it can run! Now....if they would only show birthdays again instead of having to be logged on and clicking "Today's Birthdays".......Some day.....some day.....

I hope that you notice the new "reply" button at the top right of each posting. That is in addition to there being one at the bottom of each post.

Earlier today there seemed to have been an issue with the board not loading correctly. I noticed it earlier today and nearly panicked because I was away from home for a couple of days and wouldn't have been able to address the issue or properly tinker with the site to bring it back up to speed. But I learned that the glitch affected a lot of boards, not just BP. So that was good. Anyway, the proboards people got right on it and corrected the issue. Phew!

I'll try and work on this issue regarding the layout and some stuff not showing up. It looks like the tinypic hosting service may be kaput. May have to find another host for parts of the board. It may take a few days as I have other things I have to deal with. It's always something, isn't it? Damn.
