Tommy, I didn't realize that you surfed the conservative right wing web media to find this article. Though for a anti-gay news outlet, that site sure puts forth enough stories about pro-gay companies/people.

I don't do that. That site was found on a gay news site. I guess they surf all types of sites to get news. But that site inadvertantly helped us, didn't it? I'm glad they're working hard to give us valuable information! I wonder if they'll call for a boycott of all of the companies listed? Or if they'd actually come out and say that gay people shouldn't be entitled to the things that they are entitled to. I'd love to see that. My sleeves are already rolled up for that fight.

Get Your "MILK" Somewhere Else "MILK", the movie about the San Francisco politician Harvey Milk, who was murdered in 1978 reportedly will not be shown in any of the 2,700 Cinemark theaters. The CEO of Cinemark, Alan Stock supposedly wrote a check for $9,999.00 to the "YES On 8" campaign. NO MILK FOR CINEMARK THEATERS!Also, be aware that the author of the book by Stephanie Meyer, "TWILIGHT", which was just released as a movie, will supposedly donate 10% of all cash she earns from it to the Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons). As someone else said....."Spend your gay dollars appropriately".

Well, the American Family Association is at it again..... in addition to targeting Pepsi and other companies that dare to not spew hate, they now include the show "The Family Guy" because of their episode "The Family Gay". Family Guy spoofs everything so I wasn't offended by the temporary gayness of Peter Griffin. Especially since Brian lectured little Stewie when he made some nasty comments about gays. Even though he's such a little fruit himself! ;D. Anyway......read on...... Link: AFA says Pepsi sponsors homosexual agenda on "The Family Guy"I think I'll go have a Pepsi....or two!!!

Hahaha... so the AFA is just now protesting Family Guy because of gay issues? You'd think that an uppity right-wingnut organization like the AFA would have found about a million reasons to hate the Family Guy up till now, but throw a gay theme in there and they get all huffy. Seriously, they are only preaching to their own choir by protesting and boycotting. Nobody in the mainstream really takes them seriously.

McDonalds Is Not As Into Gay Advertising As You May Think Earlier this month, McDonald's in France created a stir when they released the following advertisement: The inclusion of an LGBT teen McDonald’s French advertising was certainly a positive; however, there were certainly problems with the commercial itself, which I noted in an earlier post. The Operations Chief Don Thompson recently sat down with the Chicago tribune to discuss McDonalds corporate operating plans, and when the subject of the now internet famous French ad came up, Thompson confirmed my belief that the so-called tolerance towards the LGBT was very limited. Tribune: A French TV ad featuring a gay teen and his father has stirred some controversy — not there, but here. Can you talk about that? Thompson: It is an example that markets, cultures are very different around the world. (For instance), I've never shied away from the fact that I'm a Christian. I have my own personal beliefs and I don't impose those on anybody else. I've been in countries where the majority of the people in the country don't believe in a deity or they may be atheist. Or the majority of the country is Muslim. Or it may be the majority is much younger skewed. So when you look at all these differences, it's not that I'm to be the judge or the jury relative to right or wrong. Having said that, at McDonald's, there are core values we stand for and the world is getting much closer. So we have a lot of conversations. We're going to make some mistakes at times. (We talk) about things that may have an implication in one part of the world and may be the cultural norm in another part of the world. And those are things that, yes, we're going to learn from. But, you're right, that commercial won't show in the United States. Read entire article here: McDonalds Is Not As Into Gay Advertising As You May ThinkWendy's and Burger King are better anyway. Who needs Mickey D's?? But I'd also like to see if there is any reaction from the Wendy's or BK folks........

From Canada: A listing of GLBT friendly businesses: LGBT-friendly corporations revealed IBM tops the list of the most inclusive organizations for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people, according to the International Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (IGLCC). IGLCC, based in Montreal, released the second edition of its International Business Equality Index, which measures the performance of multinational corporations in relation to diversity and inclusion issues, specifically regarding LGBT communities. It is an indicator of the diversity leadership taken by global corporations in the local communities in which they serve. Google, BT Group, Morgan Stanley and Cisco Systems round out the rest of the top five. Except for Google and Morgan Stanley, which were new to the index this year, all of this year's top five corporations were also in the top five last year. "On behalf of IBMers worldwide and our LGBT communities, IBM is extremely proud to receive this recognition from the International Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce," said Frank Kern, senior vice-president of global business services at IBM. "IBM's heritage on diversity spans nearly 100 years, and we're as committed today as at any point in our history to continuously evolving our innovative global workplace policies and practices." This year, 25 global corporations employing more than 2.2 million people in 220 countries participated in the survey, compared to 15 corporations last year. JC Penney is sticking with Ellen DeGeneres The online group OneMillionMoms.com appears to be unsuccessful in its efforts to get retail chain JC Penney to fire Ellen DeGeneres as their spokesperson because she is a lesbian. In a statement to Yahoo.com, JC Penney has confirmed that it "stands behind its partnership with Ellen DeGeneres" which was announced last week. One Million Moms states on its website: 'DeGeneres is not a true representation of the type of families who shop at the retailer. The small percentage of customers they are attempting to satisfy will not offset their loss in sales by offending the majority.' But DeGeneres, now in the ninth season of her popular daytime talk show, has quickly been able to demonstrate just how much public support she does have. Read article: JC Penney is sticking with Ellen DeGeneres I plan on getting myself to JCP this week and spending some money. Socks, shirts, maybe underwear (god knows I need them!) or something, anything. At this time we need to show JCP some support for their support of Ellen. ****And by the way.....in the article there is a link to a Los Angeles Times article whic contains a survey on this issue. I'd advise members to read the article and take the survey. It's overwhelmingly supporting JCP's decision to keep Ellen as a spokesperson.****

Ellen Uses Show to Call Out "Haters" Who Want Her Fired In a sometimes humorous and always pointed monologue, Ellen DeGeneres responded on her show to the group that wants her fired as JC Penney's spokesperson because she's gay. "Normally I try not to pay attention to my haters," she said, "but this time I'd like to talk about it because my haters are my motivators." A group that calls itself One Million Moms had called on the department store chain to fire DeGeneres because of the message having a lesbian spokesperson would send. "Funny that JC Penney thinks hiring an open homosexual spokesperson will help their business when most of their customers are traditional families," its Facebook page read. "More sales will be lost than gained unless they replace their spokesperson quickly." Read article & view video: Ellen Uses Show to Call Out "Haters" Who Want Her Fired

Chick-fil-A CEO Dan "Chatty" Cathy meets with college leaders about LGBT issues With Chick-fil-A fights breaking out on campuses across the country, including several in North Texas, company CEO Dan Cathy reportedly met with college leaders to discuss LGBT issues in Atlanta on Thursday. It was Cathy whose anti-gay comments earlier this summer sparked the protest. The details of Thursday’s meeting were brief and given by an unnamed source, but centered around “diversity, hospitality, and the opportunity to find common ground,” according to the source. Cathy is trying to repair relationships with colleges in an effort to further expansion plans for more on-campus locations across the country, many at large schools. The University of North Texas was the first of five area colleges to start a petition calling for the university to remove the restaurant from its student union. READING BAR CODES
Paraphrasing what I saw on another couple of sites and giving some tidbits from what I got from them....... If you want to keep our American dollars in the USA (and Canada!) supporting jobs and businesses….Always read the labels on the food you buy….No matter what the front of the box or package says (turn it over and read the back – carefully) With all the food and pet products now coming from China, it is best to make sure that you read the label at the grocery store and (especially Walmart) when buying food products. Many products no longer show when they are made; they only list where the distributor is located. It is very important to read the barcode to track its origin.
This is a great way to "Buy USA and Canada" – – and not from China. The whole world is concerned about China-made "black hearted goods" . Can you differentiate which one is made in Taiwan or China?
If the first three digits of the barcode are 690 691 or 692, the product is made in China. 471 is made in Taiwan. This is our right to know but the government and related departments never educate the public, therefore we have to find out for ourselves. Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not prefer products that are made in China, so they don't show from which country it is made. However, you may now refer to the barcode – – remember if the first three digits are:
00 – 13 USA and Canada 30 – 37 France 40 – 44 Germany 49 – Japan 50 – UK 57 – Denmark 64 – Finland 76 – Switzerland and Liechtenstein 471 – Taiwan 628 – Saudi Arabia 629 – United Arab Emirates 690 – 695 China 740 – 745 Central America All 480 codes are made in the Philippines. By USA and Canadian made by looking for the " 0 " at the beginning of the number. [/b]

Bluepride, thank you so much for the tip. I NEVER buy anything that is made in China. Sometimes It's hard to avoid it but I have actually taken things back to a store, made a scene, and demanded my money back when I see that something I puprchased was made in China. Their murchandise is crap and sometimes dangerous. A few years ago, they were importing poisoned dog and cat food. Before that, there was a problem with toothpaste imported from China. Their Christmas electrical decorations have been known to start house fires when they overheat in a Christmas tree. China has flooded American markets with garbage products that are sold mostly in Wal Mart but they can be found even in upscale stores as well. Americans must band together and stop supporting a country that uses slave labor and harvests the kidneys of inmates as well as other disgusting things.
