Anyone see the new comedy cop show "Brooklyn 99"? I was a little curious to see how bad or good it would be. It was mostly silly buffoonery but it had it's moments where I chuckled a bit. The lead character, Peralta, is tres annoying and a clown. Some of the precinct situations were kind of unrealistic. The only thing I found remotely real was the scene where they showed the fire extinguisher race. (Of all things! .... I know people who've done far worse.....including me.) I'll give it a few more episodes to see how it develops. The one thing that blindsided me was that the new Commanding Officer was openly gay! SURPRISE, SURPRISE!! Before he revealed that about himself, he kind of reminded me of an old Commanding Officer of mine. (He was openly straight!) Also, I was glad to see Terry Crews as a Detective Squad Sergeant. He's good in anything he's in.
So....I wasn't expecting much and I was kind of let down at the constant buffoonery but again, it was the first show and I guess they have to lay out the characters the way they did. Hopefully, the show will get better and they can balance out the laughs with some seriousness. That lead character needs to tone it down a couple of notches though.... Yeeesh!

The second episode was much better than the first one but it was still not as good as it should be. Maybe it will improve....
