Blue Pride is a message board for and an organization of gay and lesbian professionals in law enforcement. Our membership includes gays, lesbians, bi-sexuals, transgendered and other people generally included under the umbrella of "LGBT". Our membership includes members from the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe. Blue Pride Radio is an expansion of this site and all rights are reserved for this board/group and the radio show.
When registering, I strongly advise against using e-mail addresses from hotmail and verizon as they have shown to cause activation issues. (IE: unable to activate your member account)
We have a great group here and we've shown that we behave admirably. But some guidelines are in order.....
1) You are responsible for what you post.
New members are expected to introduce themselves in the
"Introductions" area. If you were referred here by another
member, let us know who referred you. Give us some
insight to who you are and what your assignment is (with
appropriate discretion if necessary). You may be subject
to discrete screening, if felt justified. Remember, membership
here is a privilege, not a right. Minimum age for
membership is 19 while providing verifiable proof of
employment/voluntary status with Criminal Justice/Public
Safety agencies/groups. ****If we are unable to properly vet you via e-mail address, or any other means, it may result in non-acceptance of your application. Protection of our members is paramount. **** If somehow you are accepted but "slipped though the cracks" (that is: not really qualified for membership) and we realize it or find out, you will be banned and blocked. All accepted members are with us on a trial basis, as it were.
2) Treat other members with respect.
Seriously, we don't have any problems in this area,
but don't intentionally attack anyone. We don't do this
but this is just a disclaimer. But you better be thick-
skinned and be able to take a bit of ribbing. No harassment
of other members via personal message, board postings,
phone calls, e-mail or any other means. Obviously, no porn...ever. If this occurs and is brought to our attention, it is cause to be banned. Keep postings within the PG-13 area. PG-13 guidelines are available by doing a google or similar search. Posters who are intentionally disruptive or appear to be intentionally disruptive will be banned from the site. Anti-cop or anti-law enforcement hate speech or hate speech of any kind, i.e.: racial, ethnic, religious, etc., will not be tolerated. Also membership in any hate groups, especially as relates to law enforcement is grounds for banishment from this site.
3) Avatars may not be larger than 100x100. If you post a
photo or a graphic, be sure it is not so large that it disrupts
or alters the page. Re-size it or it will be removed. Obviously,
no porn. And NO hotlinking of photos. That is, posting them
directly from an article or site. They must be hosted at
a site like tinypic.com or imageshack.com or one of the other
sites out there.
4) No spamming or trolling. We haven't had anything like this in the past, but I just need to "state" this. Blatant
advertisements are not permitted. If you have an event to promote, that is fine. Advertisement of products, for example, are not permitted as per Proboards. If you are in doubt as to whether something falls into this category or not, contact the Admin.
5) If you post an article, please just post a portion of it and then
include a link to the original article. Please abide by this,
unless absolutely necessary.
6) PLEASE do not start a thread on a topic if it is already
the topic of another thread. Aside from being redundant,
information posted may be lost in the shuffle if there are
multiple threads on the same topic. Look before you post!
And remember, Spell Check is your friend. As per
Proboards, all posts must be in English.
7) NO multiple user names allowed. Members are allowed to register
once with one user name. Any violations of this rule are cause
to be banned from the site.
These guidelines/rules are here mostly for our protection. We have a great group that is growing larger all the time. We've shown ourselves to be there for each other and we have a great time. We also know when to be dead serious when we have to be. We are professionals. By registering for membership with Blue Pride and Blue Pride Radio you agree to abide by these rules and guidelines as well as those of Proboards.
