I like that baby one, Tommy. If only our defectives (er...I mean detectives.........yeah sure I mean that) were a fraction as good as that baby.

We could use that tough baby in Court. She has somethings she could teach a lot of us.

This is an interesting video of some English officers dealing with a guy apparently trying to escape by car. If the cops had guns, they could've stopped the driver before he ran down one of their guys. Whacking the car with their nightsticks just made me think of them yelling "Bad car, Bad car". Not really effective. The music accompanying the video is total garbage in my opinion .

Bluepride, watching that video reminded me of a heart stopping ride along that I did with the London police. Tony Murphy(you remember him) arranged for Patrick Suraci and I to go on ride alongs. Anyway, their police cars are way to small. They decided to chase down this guy who was speeding and going through red lights. I was in the back of the car and I was bounced from left to right. My head kept hitting the roof of the car and I had to hold on for dear life when they came to a stop as I almost was thrown into the front seat. They had boxed him in and he refused to open his window or get out of his car. That's when the bad car, bad car, bad car mini billy clubs came out. I felt so bad for the car!! They had to break the passenger window to get him out. Anyway, another car took him away and we went on with our ride along. I think British sqad cars are no larger than my Honda Civic. No weapons, and little black bumper cars. How does anybody take them seriously?

Here is a video from 3 days ago in Blue Ash, Ohio. The first part isn't much of anything, but it continues with audio. They are talking about going 100MPH. My agency would have called us off at 85MPH. www.newsnet5.com/news/14012046/detail.html?taf=nn5

My dept. wouldnt even let it get ANYWHERE near 85, unless the bad guy had just killed one of us.

Reminds me of my mis-spent youth (the locale, not the substance abuse). I grew up on the far north side of Chicago, and my oldest brother lived in Glenview for about 10 years before being transferred to DC where he's been ever since.
By the way, the report was aired by WGN-TV. Here's a bit of a terivia quizz (and any Chicagons out there are not qualified to play): Anyone know what the call letters "WGN" stand for?
Nice to be back, sort of got busy this summer and wasn't in front of the computer much.

How funny was that female officer tripping over the grass? Luckily she or any other officer didn't end up hurt cause of it.

I was wondering where to put this video clip. I decided not to put it in the Memorial section because as you'll see, it is not appropriate. But it's a great video clip of a young Police Officer from Philadelphia being interviewed as he was leaving a hospital after being treated for a gunshot wound to the face. His answers and reactions to the reporters questions show him to be professional, smart, stoic, poised and enthusiastic. You can research the story and incident yourselves. Best wishes to the Officer. WOUNDED OFFICER LEAVES HOSPITAL

Graphic video of an assassination attempt on an off-duty Correction Officer in Newark, New Jersey. The Officer was sitting outside his house when the perp approached and opened fire. Glad that the Officer was armed and ready to return fire. And glad the perp was killed. Thanks to kwsle13 for providing it. ASSASSINATION ATTEMPT ON CORRECTION OFFICER

A chase of an 18 wheeler....well not exactly a chase because the cops were overpowered by the truck until it tips over!

My dept. wouldnt even let it get ANYWHERE near 85, unless the bad guy had just killed one of us. I had one not too long ago where the guy passed me at over 100 MPH on the highway. He came over a hill and passed me. I got up to 115-118 or so after him and wasn't catching him, just hanging in to see where he would take me. I work by myself, so I have to make the decision to chase/don't chase. It was late at night with no traffic....like on the video above. He took several narrow county roads and eventually gained enough distance to lose me in a wooded area. My old car wouldn't keep up. Everytime we would come to a "T" intersection, it would take too long to wind back up to speed. I later found out who the driver was. He had several warrants out on him and months later other officers found him hiding under a sofa when they went to serve the warrants. I got a 2005 model car now with only 64,000 miles. I routinely have to chase down people going 80-90 MPH on the highway. Got to get up to 100-110 or so to do that.....especially going the opposite direction. Have to close the gap.

This is not a LEO video per se, but is a video of a woman grocery clerk who defends herself against a robber in the best way she can. She did everything right. Complied and kept herself out of danger as much as she could and then took action. Score one for this decent woman!!!
