Maybe a few gay businesses should open up there. Maybe raise up the area to a higher level.

I hate to make my ignorance so obvious but who is playing in the baseball game that we will be seeing in Providence? Do we have orchestra seats?

I'm not going, but I would bet "Orchestra Seats" MIGHT NOT be available. Ask about Mezzanine though.....Have you seen those little plastic spray bottles with the battery operated fan on the front??? If you have one it might help keep you from "glistening" too much. Sounds like y'all are gonna have fun!

<<I hate to make my ignorance so obvious but who is playing in the baseball game that we will be seeing in Providence? Do we have orchestra seats?>> The Pawtucket Red Sox is the home team. They're the AAA Minor League Team affiliated with the Boston Red Sox, who are currently the #1 American League Team in the country at this point! (Take that, Yankees!) Many of the members of the team will eventually be called up to the Red Sox, to replace injured players or because they play so well that they merit going to the big leagues. Others will be traded to other teams and still others will be kept on the team next year. They will be playing the Richmond Braves which is the AAA Minor League team affiliated with the Atlanta Braves (cue the Tomahawk Chop). I'll be pulling for the Pawsox because I'm a Red Sox fan and they have some outstanding players on their team. The date of the game is June 14th, a Thursday night. And no...there aren't any orchestra seats! This is not the Pawtucket Symphony Orchestra we're going to see. ;D Prydeguys is hereby officially notified to bring a mitt with him. And by mitt, I mean a catcher's mitt, not Opera Gloves!! I want to see you catch some foul balls. I know you've probably caught a few foul balls in your time, but this time they'll actually be baseballs! I'll have you chewing tobacco and spitting before the game is over!!! I can't wait!! This is going to be fun! Start learning the words to "Sweet Caroline" now, Prydeguys!!!! By the way, the night we go will be Armed Services Night at the stadium. The Pawsox will be honoring men and women of the Armed Services in ceremonies before the game. The crowd should be interesting! I wonder if they'll honor gay cops that night too. We're armed and we serve!

Since I've been up to my nipples in family obligations, work, baseball, (and sometimes a combination of work & baseball at the same time!), the ongoing very serious issues with GOAL and preparing for the Rhode Island conference next week, among other things...I haven't been able to really contribute and post lately. So....just to keep my hand in things.....I'm posting this video of a Rolling Rock Beer commercial. It's baseball oriented, so that's why I'm putting it here!! So....in my ever ongoing quest to keep the standards of Blue Pride at an all time high level.....I present this video..... enjoy.... ROLLING ROCK FOUL BALL BEER COMMERCIAL

He just looks like the average wannabe street punk we have here in Muntucky.
It's sad that pieces of crap like that can be given so much money like that, and decent people like us that are so vital to the survival of society have to scrape for every dime.

Scott Olsen has been a big problem for the Florida Marlins since last year. He's gotten into fights with other teamates right in the dugout on televised games. Most notably, his fight with Miguel Cabrera last year. Cabrera is another loser but thats another story. But this Olsen character had just come off of a suspension less than 24 hours before this incident, for another incident. He pitched a few hours earlier and I believe the Marlins won that game. So he goes out and gets hammered and is pulled over by the Police. And the rest is history! I hope the Marlins didn't bail him out and he has to spend some time in the cells. He shouldn't be in baseball. He should be in some suburb mixing cement.

The other night I was at a game where, towards the end of the night, things just got so surreal. The Brooklyn Cyclones (a minor league farm team of the NY Mets) were playing the Vermont Lake Monsters (a farm team of the Washington Nationals). The game was scoreless through nine innings, so it went into the tenth. In the top of the tenth, the Lake Monsters scored a run so at least there was an end in sight for this game! At that point, I didn't care who won! At the beginning of the bottom of the tenth inning, naturally, a Brooklyn Cyclone player came to the plate. During the at bat and totally accidentally, the guy was hit in the head with a pitch. His helmet flew off and he hit the ground, face down and not moving. Eventually his right leg started twitching and he was surrounded by trainers and medical people from both teams as well as his manager and security people. EMT's were also there but they seemed to be lacking in communication with each other due to bad radios. I was sitting behind home plate so I saw all of this as it unfolded. In a bizarre twist, about a minute after the kid was hit and injured, the Friday night Coney Island Fireworks show started up, just beyond the stadium. So this poor kid, no more than about 22 years old, if that, was seriously injured and being attended to and this grandiose fireworks display is going on all around us. And then due to the humidity and heat, all of the smoke from the fireworks show covered the playing field, blowing in at the field and the stands where the spectators sat. All the while, the player is being attended to and a stretcher is brought out to him. The smoke was so thick that the remaining players on the field were called off the field and sent into the clubhouse of both teams. You could not see past the pitchers mound. This went on for about 25 minutes. Eventually, the player was placed on the stretcher and immobilized and removed to the hospital with a Police escort. I haven't seen anything in the newspapers about this even though I thought for sure that I would. Hopefully, he'll be alright. But when the smoke finally lifted and the player was removed, the game continued. Everyone from the teams to the spectators were totally bummed out by now and everyone just wanted the game to be over with. Three quick outs later, and it was over. What a bizarre ending to a nice night. I'm just hoping the player is going to recover fully. Who knew at the beginning of the game, when there was a moment of silence for the Minor League Coach who was tragically killed in a similar accident earlier in the week, that there would be such a similar close call to one of the Brooklyn Cyclones?

You are very welcome BluePride. I am glad you enjoyed yourself Saturday night. Obviously the game could have had a better outcome but whatcha gonna do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As far as my friends being the "Two of the nicest women you'll ever meet!".... ah...okay...I guess after knowing them 27 years I'm kinda use to their niceness !!!!!!!!!!! I would have thought the Scott Olsen photo off the scoreboard would have come out better ... not so grainy. Anyway - glad you had a good time and if I happen to have extra tickets again I will be sure to call you !!!!!!!!

First, I want to thank Levon for the Mets ticket yesterday. It was one of the best Mets games I've ever experienced. But that was yesterday. I watched the game today from home and I'm glad I didn't go today to the sold out game. The Mets suffered the worst collapse in Major League Baseball history. I'm not going to go into the details because it's too painful right now. I just hope that by next season we get rid of some of the prima-donnas on the team and replace them with baseball players. I'm just not very happy right now, so I'll keep this short: = This is how I feel right now. Sorry to be such a downer.....
