Does anybody here know how to get rid of a cockroach? Stephen and I always keep the house clean. In fact, It's spotless. Now I'm actually talking about one cockroach. Every few weeks it suddenly appears on the kitchen counter and I run to get something to kill it with. But when I come back, It's always gone again. I constantly spray, and I use a professional pest control service but every few weeks it keeps coming back. I'm sure it's the same cockroach. Coming back over and over again. Anybody got any suggestions?

Have you tried that boron gel stuff yet? I once lived in a sh** hole in Indianapolis and every apartment but mine was dirty, so roaches from there were always coming into my place. But that gel stuff kept them away for the most part. Not sure if Florida roaches are some kind of tougher breed. hehehe If only you had a dog, he might eat the roach.

Thanks for the tip hoosiercop. I'll go out an buy the gel today. Stephen says that a cockroach will always hide in the closet and usually will not come out and stand in the light of day. He's right. Every few weeks, when I see it, it somes out at night just to remind me that it's still around poluting my sensibilities. I feel pretty good about this gel. I'm sure it will work. After all, none of us need a cockroach around us. All they do is spread all kinds of filth.

if the gel doesn't work I'm sure a stick or two of dynamite will
;D
...but I would only do that as a last resort...it might make a little bit of a mess...not to mention upsetting the neighbors.

I just returned from voting and I'm not happy. When I arrived at my location and was waiting on line I noticed that there were three (3) people in my voting booth. And the other people on line acted as if it was no big deal. The woman who was the floor manager noticed this and to her credit, made the other two people leave the booth. She also chastised the woman worker who allowed them into the booth. Then there was a discrepency regarding the voting numbers. When you vote, you're given a card with a number on it that you give to the volunteer or the worker, before you go into the booth. There was a gap discovered and they were off by a few numbers. What a calamity. I took out my trusty pen and paper and began writing names and what I was hearing. After returning home I reported this incident. I can only imagine the amount of times this is happening all over the country.

I really think it is. I've heard a lot of horror stories on the news since yesterday. Just sheer incompetence. What a surprise. It also happened in 2004. I was on line waiting and there were two adults in the voting booth. The only thing that stopped me from making a big stink about it was the fact that my Mom was hospitalized at that time and my priority was getting my vote in, then driving the 65 miles to the hospital. But of course, I was seething. It just seems like some people don't care about the out and out cheating.

Time to take a deep breath and calm down. You don't know the circumstances. My dad is 95 and as a result of his stroke a few years back his eyesight is poor and even though he may know who he wants to vote for, he can't read the small print on the ballots. As a consequence I go into the booth with him, with the full knowledge and acceptance of the voting administrators. He tells me who he wants to vote for, I "fill in the circles" for him, and that's how his vote gets counted. It's no different than if he asked for a write-in ballot and I helped him fill it in at home.

Hey Hoosier, remember that pesky cockroach I talked about? Well, think that Boron Gel must have worked. I have not seen that cockroach again. It must be dead under the stove or something. Anyway, thanks for the tip. I'll keep the gel handy should I ever need it again.

Bluepride, what a great commercial. I think the gel is best because it has no smell. Stephen says that sometimes a cockroach can show up in or around your computer and that's a scary thought. I don't thnk you should spray inside your computer as it might harm the electonics. But, if you spread the gel around the base of the machine, that should do it. I think I'll spread some gel around tonite. You might want to do the same. Again, thanks to Hoosiercop for the gel tip!!!
