I too am one of the lucky ones. On March 28th, Stephen and I will celebrate thirteen years together. He's my life, he's my everything. I can't wait until tomorrow because I will love him even more than I love him today. The other day he told me that he hates to go to sleep at night. I asked him why and he said "because I miss you when I sleep."

Well...this actually happened yesterday but I'm posting it here today. And in reality, it's something good that happened to all of us. In March 2003 two NYPD undercover Detectives were brutally executed by a low life thug from the borough of Staten Island. He shot both of them point blank in the back of their heads. I mean he literally blew their heads apart. He was eventually caught and arrested and the legal system went through it's slow process. But this time the Police, the Detectives' families and the citizens of New York and The United States finally won. The mutt was found guilty a few weeks ago. And since then, the jury had to vote to see if he would be sentenced to life in prison without parole or to the death penalty. This case was taken over by the Feds, so there was a chance the death penalty would happen due to the heinousness of the crimes. Well something good happened last night. By unanimous decision, the jury voted for the death penalty. I'm sorry if anyone thinks the death penalty shouldn't be an option, but I'm HAPPY that it was and is going to be applied here. Even though the appeals have already started, I hope the final result is this punk's eventual demise. The sooner the better. After the final verdict was read, his reaction was to look at the wives of the Detectives he murdered. He scowled and stuck his tongue out at them in yet another act of defiance. He has not shown any remorse for these crimes and has in fact bragged about them. So.....yeah, something good happened yesterday....for ALL of us! Link: FRY BABY

FRY the bastard , the problem with todays system is we dont use the death penality enough thats why its not effective.. If we brought back public executions that would stop alot of mess also... I hope the family and his fellow officers are there when he fries..

If you read the entire NY Post account on the link, it's pretty sad, all of it on all sides, but not something a lot of us are unfamiliar with, even if the vics aren't always cops.
Despite the sadness of it all, I have t agree with BP, the sonner they stick the needle in this mopes arm the better for society as a whole.

I forgot to post this morning but last night I finally got a taser. I took a shock from it. The instructor didnt want a shoot anyone with the prongs cause then hed have to get ems there to follow our protocall. So he just hooked up the clamps instead. It hurt like crazy. hehe We technically do not have to take a shock to be able to carry. And a few guys werent gonna do it. But after I did, then the one other guy was like, "well if HE can do it, then I better do it." I guess he didnt want the shame of not being as tough as the gay guy. hehehehe But one of the guys still pussed out and wouldnt take it. When my shift partner got zapped, he let out a girly yell at first. It was funny. But I am just glad to have another option at my disposal now. I've been wanting a taser for a while.

I know this should prob be in another section, but it sure was a good thing to happen..... My COLTS just won the Super Bowl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D Too bad my future husband, Brandon Stokley, wasn't playing in the game cause of injury. The other thing that was great about the game is it actually finished before I had to get ready for work. I was worried I'd only get to see up to the 3rd quarter. Tommy, feel free to move this to the sports section if you want to. I just put it here cause it was such a spirit lifter for me going in to work.

Cool thing that happened this morning at work.....I got to Tase a guy. One week and 2 hrs after getting my Taser. hehehe It was a guy who was OWI and he resisted arrest. My shift partner was upset cause he didnt get to Tase the guy. He had trouble getting his Taser out of its holster quickly. By time he got his out, I was applying mine. Of the group of 5 officers that got the Tasers last week, I'm the second to use his. And both were very justified, not just officers that are too itching to use them.

OWI is Operating While Intoxicated, I take it. In NY it's DWI......or DWO if you're Asian. But it's good that you had the taser to use so soon after being trained. I was trained in taser, stun gun and other non-lethals a long time ago but they were such a pian in the ass to have to use. if you tasered someone, you'd have to take the guy to the hospital and have the spikes removed by the doctors and then go through a vouchering process and finally fill out a ton of paperwork. It was just not worth it. I'd rather've just shot if it came to that. In NY, they're such shakeboxes in the higher-ups of the department.

I don't think that anyone in correction uses tasers. If anybody knows differently please let me know. We have lots of other non lethal tricks in our bags to use.

Oh by the way....it was a good day so far today. Bought a few lottery tickets....took care of my taxes....and finally gave a DNA sample so I can prove that the little girl in the Bahamas is mine!

Carroll, actually our county does use the Taser within our jails. Obviously the deputies don't wear them like a street deputy would, but when they are requested to be brought on scene, that in itself quells some of the incidents. If they don't stop........then it's time to "ride the lightning!"
