Questions about that video.........
1.) Was that guy the arresting officer or a jail officer?
2.) Was this in England?
Observations..........
1.) That officer's only speed seemed to be "slow as f---". Not sure if that is just his speed, or him not taking his job seriously enough every time. A lot of us tend to relax every now and then. This shows how close to the end that relaxing might have gotten him. He almost looked nonchalant about what he was doing.
2.) There must have been a REALLY crappy pat down done at the arrest scene. That knife should have never gotten inside the jail. Now with a proper pat down this whole incident might have just occurred in the field instead of in the jail, but then there might have also been other officer(s) on scene to help, maybe one with a taser.
3.) Such a small, confined space to start the intake in I think isn't very tactical for officers. It was a great job of the assisting officers to jump over the counter and help out. I know some at our jail that flat out would not be able to jump over a counter. I understand using the space to control the inmate, but having a more open space to do that in can allow other officers easier access if something goes down. I mean, that video showed how that space "controlled" that inmate. If the assisting officers weren't so athletic, that could have been much uglier.
4.) Awesome job again by the assisting officers! They freakin rocked out with their....well you know how that ends. It again goes to show how staying fit, and having good readiness/reactions helps officers stay alive. It might not have to be one's self but it can be someone else who ends up safer because of it.
